Telephone Standby

Telephone Standby means a juror has been summoned to call the court for five nights (after 5:00 p.m.) for reporting instructions. Telephone Standby was created to minimize juror inconvenience and make more efficient use of jurors. Currently Telephone Standby is available in the South County Division and for certain groups serving at the Central Courthouse, downtown San Diego. Pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure, section 209, any prospective juror who has been summoned for jury service and who fails to appear as directed, or who fails to respond to the Court, may be found in contempt of Court and may be placed in custody and/or fined.

Central Courthouse – Jurors whose service starts on a Friday at the Central Courthouse are on Telephone Standby for 5 days. You will need to know your group number, which is shown on your summons. Jurors will make their first call for recorded reporting instructions on the Thursday just before the reporting date on the Summons for Jury Service. Call after 5:00 p.m. to (619) 844-2411. Reporting instructions are also given below.

Sept. 22, 2022

**Effective  February 16, 2022 : Jurors may be required to wear a mask in certain areas of the courthouse regardless of vaccination status. 

 

This pertains to Jurors who are summoned for service the week of September 23, 2022:

No jurors are ordered to report to the Central Courthouse on Friday, September 23, 2022 in observance of  California Native  American Day.

Also, Jurors will not be needed for Monday, September 26, 2022. Therefore, all jurors in  groups 900-921   please remain on telephone standby and must continue to call after 5pm each for further reporting instructions.

North County Division – Jurors whose service starts on a Friday at the North County Division are on Telephone Standby for 5 days. You will need to know your group number, which is shown on your summons. Jurors will make their first call for recorded reporting instructions on the Thursday just before the reporting date on the Summons for Jury Service. Call after 5:00 p.m. to (760) 201-8700. Friday, September 23, 2022 court will be closed in observance of Native American Day. 

This pertains to Jurors who are summoned for service on September 23, 2022:

All jurors in Groups 700-713 please report for Jury Duty on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 7:30am at the North County Regional Center. All jurors in groups 714-737 remain on telephone standby and must continue to call after 5pm each day for further reporting instructions.

South County Division – ALL jurors who serve at the South County Division are on Telephone Standby for 5 days. You will need to know your group number which is shown on your summons. Jurors will make their first phone call to (619) 746-6422 for recorded reporting instructions anytime on the Saturday or Sunday just before the reporting date on the Summons for Jury Service, and after 5:00 p.m. each day after that. Reporting instructions are also given below.

South County Regional Center

September 22, 2022

EFFECTIVE TUESDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2022, Jurors may be required to wear a mask when in certain areas of the courthouse regardless of vaccination status.

This pertains to Jurors whose service starts on September 26, 2022.

No Jurors are ordered to report for Jury Duty on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the South County Regional Center. All Jurors in groups 100-149 remain on telephone standby and must continue to call each day after 5pm for further reporting instructions.

Please note the court will be closed on Friday, September 23, 2022 in observance of Native American Day.

All Jurors in groups 600-610 please report for Jury Duty on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the East County Regional Center at 8:00am. Jurors in groups 611-644 remain on telephone standby and must continue to call after 5:00pm each day for further reporting instructions.
