San Diego Superior Court Closed Monday, September 2, 2024

In observance of the Labor Day statewide holiday, the San Diego Superior Court will close all courtrooms and business offices on Monday, September 2, 2024.

The public is urged to visit the Court’s website at sdcourt.ca.gov to handle traffic tickets or obtain court information.

San Diego Resident to Lead the 2024-2025 San Diego County Civil Grand Jury

James Tuck was selected as the foreperson of the 2024-2025 San Diego County Grand Jury, which started service on July 1, 2024. 

Together with 18 other San Diego County residents, he represents the people of San Diego County in a watchdog role investigating governmental agencies and public entities within the county. 

Born in Durham, North Carolina, Tuck grew up throughout the United States as a military child. He now resides in Linda Vista.

San Diego Superior Court Planned Web Applications Outage - Saturday, August 17, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

The San Diego Superior Court's web-based applications will not be available due to maintenance on Saturday, August 17 from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. The Court's website will remain active, however, all applications (Registers of Actions, Exhibit Upload Applications, Scheduling Applications, Payment Portals, etc.) will be temporarily unavailable during the maintenance period.

Longest-Serving San Diego Superior Court Judge David M. Gill Retires

The Honorable David M. Gill, the longest-serving San Diego Superior Court judge, will formally retire after over 50 years on the bench. His official retirement date will be on his 90th birthday, December 13, 2024. He was appointed to the San Diego Municipal Court by Governor Ronald Reagan in 1974. In 1978, he ran for a seat on the Superior Court and logged a victory over two strong opponents. He was sworn into the Superior Court bench on January 8, 1979.
